Cher and Tom Cruise Had A Big Hair 80s Love Affair
In a case of real-life risky business, apparently, Cher was moonstruck by Tom "shy boy" Cruise in the 1980s and they had a passionate love affair that lasted between "one night and several months".
But if Cher could turn back time, if she could find a way, she'd take back those words that hurt him and he'd stay. If Cher could reach the stars, she'd give them all to Cruise, and he'd love her, love her, like he used to do, if Cher could turn back time...
But she can't. And Tom Cruise is a Scientologist.
As a couple, they couldn't have been much odder, but pop singer/actress Cher has revealed an 80's love affair with a then very young Tom Cruise.Opening up to US chat show host Oprah Winfrey, she said that they met at a White House reception in the early 1980s, and when they first started dating Cruise was just a "shy boy."
The star discussed the relationship on an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" taped in Las Vegas before a crowd of 4,000 people, according to Harpo Productions.
It was unclear from comments released by Harpo exactly when the relationship took place, but in a similar interview in February on "Entertainment Tonight" Cher indicated it was after Cruise made "Risky Business”.
When Winfrey asked "So how much of a date was that?” Cher responded with "Oh, that was a long date - really. I lived in his apartment."
advertisementReports have suggested that the affair lasted from as little as one night to several months.
