My High School English teacher had a few small posters of Mary Cassat paintings up on the wall. It's the kind of thing a High School student takes for granted but the impression was made nonetheless. So when I saw this at the Art Institute, it was immediately familiar to me. Mr. Sawaya was no ordinary teacher… he immersed us in culture without us even realizing it.
