China plans pop star crackdown after Bjork outburst

Finally Bjork is making the news for something other than attacking photographers.

China’s culture ministry said the outburst “broke Chinese law and hurt Chinese people’s feelings” and pledged to “further tighten controls”.

The ministry said: “We will further tighten controls on foreign artists performing in China in order to prevent similar cases from happening in the future.

“We shall never tolerate any attempt to separate Tibet from China and will no longer welcome any artists who deliberately do this.”

Hi Rob,

This piece of news must have escaped me totally, what was it that Bjork said?

Hey Swan.  Check out the video above, and you can also find the original story here.

Thanks Rob!

I left a comment at the link you provided.  Basically I don't believe that concerts are appropriate venues for political comment.  The report there said that many in the audience were uncomfortable when she did that and began to leave.

I think that says it all.

Care to bet if they ever attend another one of her concerts? ;)

i saw a great and braking rockstar taking a position infront of an important problem. and i heard her scream it infront of a huge number of persons... she did the better! (and i would like to tell that she is making the news for the great release and the beautiful show before the attacking one)
Peace!
