Chris Brown on Larry King Live CNN: Says He Still Loves Rihanna
Chris Brown was on Larry King Live tonight on CNN and this was Chris's first and most anticipated interview people have been waiting to see, when Chris finally spoke about what happened with his ex Rihanna earlier this year.
The interview:
He insists that he still loves Rihanna and seems to show remorse for what he has done.
When questioned by Larry King about the apology video he released, Chris insists that he wrote 'most of it' himself, and that 'he only got help with some of the wording'.
His mom sits beside him trying to look reassuring and remorseful at the same time.
Larry King asks Chris about the time he was photographed with Rihanna at the Miami home of Sean Diddy Combs, and Chris says that they just wanted to get away and not rebuild their relationship with a lover, but with a friend. Chris says the relationship was rekindled then, but maybe not now.
Chris Brown says it wasn't awkward, but they just wanted to relax. Larry King asks him what they talked about but Chris says 'it's personal'.
Mark Geragos, Chris Brown's attorney, says that he didn't even know who Chris Brown was when he took the case; he had to ask his 18-year-old daughter.
Larry then jumps to Chris' interview on the Tyra Banks show when he spoke about his mother being a victim of domestic violence, and Chris just responds 'I made a mistake. I'm only 20, I don't know everything. I need to be a man and learn who I am'.
Joyce, Chris' mother, says Chris was never a violent person before.
Would it bother Chris if Rihanna dated other men? Chris says that it would bother him, but as long as she's happy that's all that matters. He says he's not dating at the moment and is focusing on his career.
Larry then shows a video of Chris with Bow Wow talking about how he isn't going anywhere and is not a monster. Chris says 'that sounds so bad when you watch it' but insists he wanted to address the people who were not his fans that commented on the incident without any information to back it up.
On Michael Jackson's death, Chris says he broke down when he heard of Michael's death, and that he was his protege.
Joyce speaks of Chris being young and dancing to Michael Jackson songs.
Larry King quickly changes direction again and says that his show wanted a response for Rihanna for tonight's show, but no response came. Rihanna has a standing invitation to go on Larry's show.
Joyce again says how Chris has never been a violent person and she just wants to state that again for everyone.
Chris is focusing on his career and says while it's not over, he needs to work on it.
Larry King says that when Chris dies, even in a hundred years from now, the first thing that people will say is the fact that he beat Rihanna. Chris says 'that's fine, they did that to Michael and that's who I love, so that's fine'.
Chris looks right at the camera and says he just wants to thank his fans for supporting him and being there, even through the tough times.
Mark states how much he loves Chris Brown now and he has a 'high degree' of confidence that Chris is not going to do anything like this in the future. 'I love him like a son' says Geragos.
Larry King seems unaffected.

I think the interview was tough on his mom. She seems to be taking a lot of the blame in this.
