Chris Cuomo has just announced that he is leaving ABC's "Good Morning America" this Friday, December 11th, to co-host the newsmagazine "20/20."  The announcement came just hours before ABC made it official that George Stephanopoulos will be replacing Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America."

Chris Cuomo was emotional when he explained his leaving:

"It is a dream job for a journalist like me, but it was a very difficult decision, because I am leaving a special place and crew and all of you," he said, as his colleagues applauded. "You are all part of my family."

Chris Cumom will be replaced by news correspondent Juju Change.

Cuomo has been the newsreader on "Good Morning America." His last day will be Friday, the same day as co-host Diane Sawyer, who is replacing the retiring Charles Gibson on "World News."

Chris Cuomo will be greatly missed! Although he did not opt for a big farewell.. the mornings will definitely not be the same!

I knew Diane was leaving and that was disappointing enough, but I had no idea Chris was going to be gone as well.  I have been a loyal GMA watcher for many years and it's just not the same anymore without them. I always enjoyed the relationships between Diane, Robin, Chris and Sam.. the show is just not the same
