Christianity 'could die out within a century'
There are many who believe that Christianity will die out real soon - I can't see it myself though I did read that the cult of Elvis is already showing the hallmarks of having what it takes to become a real religion. Islam on the rise Christianity on the fall? Perhaps one day all the religious rivalry will subside and we will all live peacefully in the joy of being human.
More than half of Britons think Christianity is likely to have disappeared from the country within a century, according to a survey.Research by the Orthodox Jewish organisation Aish found that just over a third of people thought religions like Christianity and Judaism would still be practiced in Britain in 100 years' time.
Although four in 10 people said they would choose to be a member of the Christian religion, almost the same number said they would rather practice no religion at all.
Buddhism however, proved more attractive than both Islam and Judaism, and was chosen by nine per cent of those questioned.

Interesting poll. I like your idea of all people just enjoying being human, but unfortunately I cannot see it at the moment.

LotusFlower, very thought provoking story.
At some point, the original tenets become "twisted" as they are inadvertently and intentionally mis-interpreted over time. If Christianity is still around in 100 years, good chance it will be like Biff World ("Back to the Future") or the movie "Idiocracy".
All too often, those who appoint themselves as the interpreters are only interested in personal gain.
Christians could do more to throw the charlatans out of their churches, especially those who froth at the mouth on TV, making a mockery of religion. Proselytizers!!

According to Prof. Jean Markale of the Sorbonne, the root meaning of the word 'bishop' is financial controller. :)

LotusFlower, I like this story. It's good stuff.
There is a very interesting online documentary film showing the astro-theological origins of the three western religions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Google "Zeitgeist the movie" and watch Part 1 specifically. The introduction is not relevant, and Part 2 is about the 9-11 conspiracy. So, Part 1 is all you need to watch to get the relevant details.

LotusFlower, I like this story. It's good stuff. There is a Church of Elvis in Downtown Portland, Oregon that was a tourist draw for years, I think it may be gone now, but it certainly rings true when some consider a 42 King of Rock and Roll as their Messiah.
