The Christina Aguilera mugshot has been released by E! Online

The Christina Aguilera mugshot was taken shortly after the pop star as arrested on March 1 for public intoxication. Boyfriend Matthew Rutler was also arrested for DUI.

E! reportedly leaked the Christina Aguilera mugshot photo even though an LA Sheriff's Department spokesperson said that it would not be made public. Still, the entertainment channel managed to get its hands on a copy of the mugshot and posted it.

Some have suggested that E! could get into trouble for leaking the Christina Aguilera mugshot.

A police spokesperson told another site that the Christina Aguilera mugshot "was surreptitiously stolen."

Upon further questioning, a frustrated Whitmore told RumorFix someone from E! took a picture of the mug shot while looking at the arrest report. "They ran over and took a shot even though they said they weren't going to run it and they did. It's not being released. E! did something that was inexcusable. They said they weren't going to do something and they did it."

The spokesperson did not state whether E! could be punished for leaking the Aguilera pic.
