The UK Wedding Shows comes to the Harrogate International Centre on September 26th-27th and marks the appearance of clergy members from the diocese of Rippon and Leeds for the very first time.    The Church of England’s presence has proved successful in previous exhibitions held by the UK Wedding Show in various other locations nationwide and premieres in Harrogate this year.

The Church of England representatives will hold a stand within the Harrogate Wedding Show exhibition to encourage couples to consider a church wedding as part of their big day.  Visitors to the stall can meet clergy members and discuss wedding service ideas as well as collect information regarding new regulations and advice.

Thanks to the new regulations couples are now welcome to get married in church, whatever their beliefs, and do not need to have been baptized or be church goers themselves.   Bishop John Packer commented, “Many more people would choose a church wedding if they knew they could have one. We're taking the initiative to be at this event where people are planning their big day”.

Lucky visitors of the Harrogate Wedding Show are now presented with all the information and support they need in order to consider a spiritual Church wedding in a beautiful church of their choice.  Couples can also discuss hymns and readings with clergy members and receive guidance about planning their special day.

The Church of England stall will be one of many stands at the UK Wedding Shows dedicated to assisting couples with their wedding day preparations, providing everything they need from bridal wear and cakes to cars and flowers.  For more information visit http://www.theukweddingshows.co.uk/.
