i would read this if i were you.
so as if it wasn't already enough of an entertaining day with the whole "I need cowboy boots" deal... www.flickr.com/photos/ber101392/4135275640/ my family went to the movies to see Old Dogs.
We went out and bought two jumbo sized bags of assorted candy and water bottles to smuggle into the theater and then made our way to the community cinema that only had three showings at a time. Although it was small, it was really cool because it has been there since the '40s and looked like the theater from New Moon :)
As all twelve of us (my family, and my cousins family) nosily packed into the small theater, we got some nice looks from the people around us. I love when you get those awkward stares from people, but hey, what can you do to keep five little kids silent? Once we had passed around the bags of candy and containers of popcorn, we realized that we had arrived late to the movie so we wondered why it wasn't already playing.
Time went by, AJ spilled an entire container of popcorn and Mya spilled a bag of M&M's, along with some water. It was Mya's first time at the movies so all of us were excited for her. She sat in her seat and it kept closing up on her because she was too small, yet she was still excited for the movie to start. When we asked "Mya are you excited to see the movie?" She was like "Yeah, it has puppies!" She thought that the movie was about puppies because it was named Old Dogs. Whoops...
So still time goes on...the kids began to get restless and there was still no sign of the movie starting. Finally, a man came out and announced that they were having technological issues and that if we wanted to stay and wait for the next showing, they should have it fixed by then, or they would refund the tickets. So, since we had already gone through the process of getting everyone into the theater and situated, we decided to sit and wait a little longer.
It had been an hour and a half since the movie was supposed to have started. I along with the children grew restless and wanted to ask when New Moon was playing because I love it and want to see it again. So then the fun began. The kids all started moving toward my dad and said "tell us a funny story!" My dad sat there and told all the funny stories of his childhood and had the rest of the people in the theater laughing as we continued to wait for the movie.
After a while we realized that the movie wasn't going to happen so we started to leave the theater. As we walked out still hysterically laughing about the situation, I walked toward the New Moon theater and crept in to see what part they were at. I stood and watched for a minute, until I coughed and the entire theater turned around and stared at me. haha
Then we got our refunds and we're saying we felt guilty getting our money back because we had such a good time. So basically, I took this photo as we were walking out of the theater. I think were going again so I'll take a better one if we do, but I just thought it was a funny night. it was the best movie I've never seen. Oh, and now Mya thinks that when you go to a movie all you do is sit there and talk to people.
What a night.
