Cirque du Soleil at the 2012 Oscars: Did You Love It or Hate It?

Cirque du Soleil performed at the 2012 Oscars, and many viewers were experiencing the circus troupe's work for the first time: imagine a mix between choreography, acrobatics, and career-ending ski injuries. You can see the Cirque du Soleil Oscars video below.

The reaction, however, was mixed. Some loved Cirque du Solieil's performance, while others were like, "meh". Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but come on: that sort of thing is not as easy as it looks... and it doesn't look easy. Drop the jaded-ness for a few seconds.

After all, Meryl Streep had trouble just making it to the podium at the BAFTAs. At any rate, Cirque du Soleil's gravity-defying performance got a standing ovation at the Oscars, which makes sense.
