This afternoon as I was on my way to my local library: the Lilian Smith Library on College and Spadina in Toronto. As I was getting close, I noticed a small group was waiting outside some with small Japanese flags with them. Since I had read at the papers, the Japanese Empror and Empress are making their royal visit in Canada. Right away, I figure this got to be one of the Royal stop in Toronto..
Lilian Smith library has a specical collection of Children books.which might be the reason of the Royal visit.
Being small and Chinese I often mistaken as Japanese I guess because of that I was able to have a front of the line spot behind only the Japanese media to waiting for them.
About half an hour later, the Empress arrived and after she was introduce to the head librian and she look at my direction and wave at me! ( Later , I learn the Empror was at the Japanese Culture Center).
While the Empress was inside the Library, Most of the Japanese media were outside waiting for her to come out. About half an hour went by and the Empress still in the Library. Two mid- size tour buses arrived with Niagara Fall sign on the front of the bus. All of sudden, all the Japanese media got on and drove away. I guess, the royal couple’s next stop must be the Niagara Fall.
Shorty after they left, the Empress came out she even stopped and spoke to a Japanese young woman in Japanese and then waved to the waiting crowd. Before she step into the limo she waved at me again!
Amazing thing was I was only three foot away from her at both times..
