I cant believe anyone would do such a thing , drunk or not ~ This person has done something very sad and should be help accountable to pay for the damage to this work 1957-J-No.2 ... at the VERY least ~I am very suprised that the C . S. Museum had dropped the charges....This Museum is truly a National Treasure and should be held in the highest regard .

Well.. in case this was painted by some less famous artist the price obviously wouldn't be so high. Still was one of the leading artist in this genre and for he now has passed away there isn't new pieces coming from him and it also rises the value of his art.

I'm looking at this picture and can't see that it has $10k in value, so I'm not sure how there could be $10k in damage.

The painting has been appraised at 30 million dollars so it's easy to see how the damage could have amounted to 10K.

If anyone is interested, I can make a painting very similar to this one but will sell it to you for just 1/30th of the appraised value of this painting.

it is sad that paintings like this are worth $30 mil, but actual art can't even be sold... I'm lucky if i get $100 for my paintings, and trust me, they are a hell of a lot better than this crap.
