Columbus Day Parade NYC 2009: Photos and Videos

Today is the 65th annual New York City Columbus Day Parade; more than 35,000 participants are expected. This year, astronaut Buzz Aldrin is participating in the parade.
Fifth Avenue will be turned into a sea of red, white, and green today, as Italian Americans celebrate their heritage.
The parade runs north on Fifth Avenue from 47th through 79th Streets and will be broadcast on NBC New York.
Fifth Avenue between East 43rd Street and East 86th Street will be closed for the parade from 11 am to 5 pm today.
Also subject to closure is 43rd Street to 47th Street from Madison Avenue to 6th Avenue; 80th Street from Madison Avenue to Park Avenue, 81st Street & 82nd Street from 5th Avenue to Madison Avenue & 83rd Street from 5th Avenue to Park Avenue.
