New Florida law clears way for Bring Your Handgun to Work Day, WTF?

I fully understand the debate in the US concerning the 'right to bear arms', but in a modern context this argument doesn't really apply, in my opinion. It's not arming a militia we are talking about here, it's allowing civilians to carry the power of life and death in their purses. This is nothing new in my home state of Texas, where it's been legal to carry concealed weapons for years. But seriously?? Legal to bring a gun to work? As long I leave it in the car? Does this mean that I can bring my Uzi to work? Going postal- the revival.

Is this country completing it's digression back to the 'Wild West'? How far off was the Mike Judge film 'Idiocracy'? I'm not sure how legalizing the concealment of deadly weapons helps anything except CNN's news ratings. The people who are now lining up to get their handgun permits are usually the LAST people on earth who should be armed. If I wanted life and death confrontations I would've become a cop or joined the army. The only weapons in my house are Louisville Sluggers. Instead of that new North Face jacket I was thinking about..maybe it would be better to invest in some stylish Kevlar for the fall. I for one will not be packing a Mack 10 or a Glock..I'll leave that to T.I.
