Competition between firework handlers and neighorhood of L.A. CA
In the city of Los Angeles for some time there has been a competition between professional firework handlers, and the neighborhoods of Los Angeles. In defense of those who have planned the fireworks display so we could enjoy exploding lights above us, so to promote oooooo’s and aaaaaaah’s of the crowd. I am fascinated on how every year they seem to find new ways to make the fireworks do unusual things, and show creativity with the music that lends itself to the fireworks display for more dramatic flair.
But now on every block we have pyrotechnics who have learned the art.
They now launch their own mortars, to explode in various colors, with plumes of lights that they have sat out in the middle street. They place their mortars, and then flick their Bic lighters and run for the hills.
If there is a financial problem here in the United States, you cannot tell by the amount of fireworks that have been purchased for this special time of year.
I now stepped out my door and watched the competition. This year winner and still champion is the Colosseum, with a great pyrotechnic and music that lends itself to the dancing lights in the air. But because of some new fireworks that blossomed in the air on the fourth, my neighbors are about to put up stiff competition for all the parks in the area.
It is convenient to step out your door and witness two hours of nonstop fireworks. The only drawback is, that as I’m watching I'm also holding my waterholes in my hands, just in case.

Most Americans find it hard to believe, but other countries are not in a constant state of war. It might behoove the citizens of the United States to have a moratorium on explosions until we've gone a few years without blowing people up.
When I think of July 4, 1776 I think of my Founding Fathers who invented a system of government unrivaled. I don't think of war, and I don't think of explosions. We need to find a kinder way to celebrate our birth.
