I am glad that our police are paying attention to some illegal activities in our city. As a cyclist I am ashamed of the actions of these idiots. If you want the support of the driving community to get expanded facilities for cyclists then pissing them off by making them late for dinner, meetings, social events at the end of a long week is not the way to go about it. I ride on the street and don't really care, not do i use, bike lanes. Every time I see these "cyclists" behaving like 6 year olds an elementary school recess I feel a little less guilty about driving my 10 MPG 4x4 all by myself. If they don't respect me I will certainly not respect them.

I just got in a hudge fight with the same disrespectful biker asses driving out of granvil island. I as well ride bikes and have no problem with sharing the road with them, but when you are bloked numerous times just trying to get the fuck home after working demolishon all day, your car is dam near dead and is dying as I sit overheating, and is almost out of fuel wich I shure as hell dont have the mony to waist, oh did I menshon I must push start my car or park on a hill evey time I wont it to fire. The pompus jerk that first blocked me told me they had the permishon of the poleace to block my vehicle, I did evencahly musle my way throu but with force and tire smoke, I do not apreasheat beeing treated this way on a public road. I am shure a majority of the riders on these rides own vehicles and ocashonaly drive them, making them a bunch of hipocrits and sheep in my mind. Have respect fore other road users, we all own them so we all get to use them, next time you block my vehicle with your bike I will be shere to get out of my car and phicicaly move your spandex wearing ass!

I agree with the above comments! these people are not helping their cause by inconveniencing the mass public. the cyclists should take a page from other protesters books. for example those that have been holding silent, candlelit vigils in honour and protest of those being KILLED in iran, are not only being respectful of the public but are protesting in a peaceful way for an honourable cause. these cyclist protests are the biggest joke. any thought of helping this cause that i may have had in the past is gone. i hope bikes are banned on roads or all of you stupid people get hit by cars. my sister is from new york and she told me that cars wont stop for bike protests anymore. its their own fault if they get hit by a car when going through a red light! when you are a cyclist on a road you are considered a vehicle not a pedestrian! i will not be stopped by a bike protest ever again! i would rather run one of these stupid people over than support their idiotic behaviour! vancouver police please do something about this!!!!

How about all drivers hang lengths of lumber lengthwise out their windows as they drive along at high speed, that should clear the streets pretty fast.
