Corey Haim's Autopsy Has Been Completed but the Results Are Not Conclusive

Corey Haim's autopsy results have been released as the autopsy has now been completed, but the results are not conclusive and the coroner has decided to not determine what was the cause of death until the toxicology reports have come back and that could take weeks.

According to the autopsy results however, Corey Haim suffered from pulmonary congestion but at this stage that has not been determined as the cause of his death.

On Access Hollywood, Corey Haim's mother Judy told Maria Menounos that her son had died from pulmonary congestion and she was told this by the LA County Coroner. TMZ reports however, that while Judy was informed of these conditions, the coroner could not say if they caused Corey Haim's death.

What is Pulmonary Congestion?

According to the Medcyclopaedia, pulmonary congestion occurs when there is excess fluid in the lungs and it can be caused by any number of factors, including over-hydration, pulmonary embolism, increased capillary permeability and Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. It is not a sudden condition and can take weeks to build and build. Along with pulmonary congestion, the patient also usually suffers with a enlarged heart.

Funeral details for the actor are still being made, but Judy Haim has told the media that her son's funeral will be held in Toronto with a memorial service held in Los Angeles first.
