Corey Haim Dead: Teen Heartthrob Dies at 38

Corey Haim, Canadian-born actor who rocketed to fame in The Lost Boys and License to Drive, died early on the morning of March 10. According to Corey Haim's mother, the actor had been struggling with prescription drug addiciton for several years.

Corey Haim was at his mother's apartment in Los Angeles, and collapsed after getting out of bed at around one in the morning. Cory Haim's mother called 911. He had been complaining of flu symptoms for several days before his collapse; nonrelated prescription drug bottles were found in the apartment.

Corey Haim was taken to Providence St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, and pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Corey Haim was set to direct two projects this year.

According to IMDB, Corey Haim's mother put him into acting lessons to help him overcome his shyness, and he went on to become one of the biggest teen stars of the 1980s. Corey Haim shared the screen with Corey Feldman seven times, reuniting with him for the 2007 reality show The Two Coreys.

Haim became a teen heartthrob in the 80s after appearing in the 1986 film "Lucas" and 1987's "The Lost Boys," which also starred fellow teen idol Corey Feldman.

Perhaps just a teen no more got to him.

I watched a few episodes of The Two Corrys and you could tell he wasn't going to survive very long.

Regardless of how he died, or if you saw it coming...it still makes me sad.  I grew up watching both him and Corey Feldman, and now something is missing.  My heart goes out to his family, and friends; especially to his best friend Mr Corey Feldman.  Mr Feldman has has a tough couple of years, and I hope this doesn't overwhelm him. Good-bye Mr Corey Ian Haim, you will be missed.
