David Whalley is the Leader of Cornwall 'County' Council. A different local government structure called a Unitary Authority has been undemocratically plotted to impose on the people of the Duchy Of Cornwall which is located, like Wales, just to the west of England. The people of the Duchy of Cornwall have been fighting for years to secure serious levels of devolution and autonomy from the Westminster parliament so that the Duchy Of Cornwall can come alongside Scotland and Wales - the two other Celtic Nations of mainland Britain - in having its own devolved tier of near-autonomous self-government. David Whalley and his Liberal 'Democrat' cabal colleagues, the current power clique dominating Cornwall 'County' Council, have betrayed that urge and need by giving way to central government and not standing firm for the proper Cornish Assembly/Parliament. This contrived logo that has been hatched up by corporate branders to represent the so-called 'Unitary Authority' (the static element in this dynamic(!) short film) has caused consternation across Cornwall in its complete disregard for the iconography of Cornwall's culture and history. The short film here is an imaginary exploration of the best use the proposed incinerator at St Dennis in Cornwall (which should NEVER be built) could be put to.

STOP THE NEW CORNISH LOGO FACEBOOK CAMPAIGN
There appears to be too much confusion between public service and corporate thinking these days. And the public appear to be subsidising the 'partnership' corporates for not much apparent enhanced benefit. Far better for PUBLIC SERVICES to be delivered by fully accountable PUBLIC SERVANTS with a PUBLIC SERVICE ethos.Sideline those bullsmitting executives and parasitic shareholders.

You say
"The people of Cornwall have been fighting for years to secure serious levels of devolution and autonomy from the Westminster parliament so that Cornwall can come alongside Scotland and Wales"

Welcome to the NowPublic CornwallNews pages,Ted.
Here are references you may find helpful on the subject of greater powers of self-government for the Cornish nation. You will be aware that most of the print and broadcast media in the Duchy Of Cornwall are controlled by external interests from over in England and that this seriously restricts the extent to and form in which these issues get aired and their protagonists promoted. A Free Cornish Press is long overdue.

Thanks for once again revealing the truth about the forgotten Celtic Nation of Britain - you have many supporters in the other Celtic Nations ! Whatever happened to the petition signed by over 10% of the population of Kernow (Cornwall) calling for a referendum on Home Rule ? was that thrown on an incinerator somewhere as well ?

I see that once again the summer honours list has been leaked. The list of new bards to Gorsedh Kernow reveals yet again that the; 'Cream-Tea-Cornish' are fitted with the blue bed sheets, despite at least one of them being a past, vociferous critic of the Gorsedh, (but then honour never did count for much with hypocrites), whilst the real activists are vilified as extremists, and dangerous people. This is if you like. A tale of two policemen. One lambasted falsly as a spy and traitor, the other lauded as a new bard.
It once again demonstrates that the organisation that should stand up for Kernow, is a Celtic paper tiger that has lost all credibility with the true patriots of Kernow.
Let those with eyes to see, and a brain to comprehend, note the differences between the honourable, and the despicable.

Sadly the numbers are against us. There are more of those who do not want Cornwall as anything other than a holiday destination with a system of government akin to a London Borough. I personally cannot belive that so many of those who move down are so blind to the history and culture. I was blown away by it when I arrived many moons ago. I thought, "Hello, this is NOT England!" It screams it. How do we get people enthusiastic about the Cornish campaign? How do we manage to join up the fragmented Cornish groupls and movements and activists of all sides into one tangible force to be reckoned with? That is indeed the $64,000,000 question.
