Cost-cutting BBC spends thousands - on a fish tank
I suppose this would ok, except there are reports that they are cutting costs by banning taxis for female staff to get home safely at night.
I remember visiting the Bloomberg offices in London and finding out that they spend thousands and thousands of pounds every year keeping fresh cut flowers in their office. This is the same situation I suppose.
The document details the expenditure for 'one year's aquaria maintenance' at BBC Marylebone High Street as 1,951.04 [pounds], with parking costs adding a further 156 [pounds].
BBC bosses are spending thousands of pounds of licence-payers' money on maintaining a fish tank
Insiders said the BBC had up to a dozen fish tanks across all its sites, and that the total annual bill could be nearer to 20,000 [pounds].
But a spokeswoman for the corporation said that they were 'unaware' of the number of tanks it possessed or the annual cost of keeping them in good order.
The discovery will fuel anger over how the BBC is spending licence-payers' money.
