According to a BBC report, a 150 year old carpet known as 'Pearl Carpet of Baroda', meant for decorating the tomb of Prophet Muhammad in Medina was sold for nearly $5.5 million at an auction in Doha. The carpet was decorated with an estimated 2 million natural seed pearls. Hundreds of precious stones like diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds were used for decorating the carpet.

It is astonishing to note that in the good old times, people have the money and the imagination to create astounding things for future generations.
