Farewell - Sea Stallion from Glendalough Farvel – Havhingsten fra Glendalough
Celebrations to mark the departure of the Sea Stallion from Glendalough/Havhingsten fra Glendalough commence at Custom House Quay at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday, 29th June with refreshments, music from the Gardiner Street Gospel Singers, Sea Shanties by Stork Ejlaender Shanty Choir from Denmark and Hooks and Crookes Sea Shanty singers from Ireland, traditional fiddlers from Denmark and Irish traditional musicians.
Sea Stallion from Glendalough/Havhingsten fra Glendalough is scheduled to set sail at 11.45 a.m.
The Sea Stallion will be escorted on the first part of her voyage by the LE Emer, and a flotilla of heritage sailing boats.
The ship will be moored at the pontoon at Custom House Quay from 25th June
On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June a Viking Festival will take place between 12 noon and 6 p.m. at the site of the old Viking City of Dublin at Wood Quay, Essex Street, Temple Bar and Fishamble Street with a Viking Village, Battle Re-enactments, Living History Displays, Music and a Farmers/Food Market.
