At a pre-match press briefing at the Khulna Stadium Tuesday ahead of the 2nd and final Test, captains of both the teams expressed their optimism to win the match.
The World T20 champions, led by captain Darren Sammy, having 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series, keep their eyes to win the series 2-0 while Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim will look for levelling the series 1-1 by winning the 2nd Test as they played good cricket in the first Test except in the final session.
Touring West Indies team earned a dramatic 77-run victory over the Bengal Tigers in the first Test in Dhaka due to batting debacle of the home side in the final session of an otherwise close match.
The Caribbean team will also play the first two matches of the five-match One Day International (ODI) series at the same venue on Nov 30 and Dec 2 after playing a limited over warm-up match on Nov 28 against BCB Eleven.
Addressing the press conference Tuesday, Windies skipper Darren Sammy said: "Last year we drew the first Test, this year we won it. We've one more Test to go and we'll do everything to win this match.
We want to win the series 2-0 playing our usual game."
He, however, said: "We don't take Bangladesh lightly they are very strong side on home ground. They've some good batsmen and bowlers, who did well in Dhaka, but we are also ready."
Replying to a question, Sammy said: "All of our players including Shivnarine Chanderpaul are fit."
Bangladesh Captain Mushfiqur Rahim said that they wanted to win the match playing good cricket session by session according to their plan, rectifying the mistakes of the first Test.
He said: "We had a plan to play session-by-session (in 1st Test), take one day at a time without keeping the result in mind . we had one poor session and that cost us the match. I hope we can do this in the Khulna Test and it will help us in gaining consistency."
