This year's crowning of Miss Texas as Miss USA 2008 has struck a cord of controversy in many of the pageant's viewers, but for this editor it is a question of fact over fix-shun.

In almost every beauty pageant lineup across the country there is one contestant (or sometimes more than one) who stands out among the crowd. Whispers can be heard throughout pageant week, "oh, if Miss So-and-so wins, this pageant is rigged, it's fixed." Let's think about this for a second.

needs improvement:

chiggins, I think your story has potential but needs some improvement. I've got a few suggestions, and if you give them a try, I'd be happy to remove this flag.

Could you please use the highlight tool when posting from another site so that our readers know your story if from another source, and also this story is rather old now. Do you have an update you could post instead?
