Despite Crystal Bowersox's Health Scare She Made it to the American Idol Top 12

Crystal Bowersox has made it to the American Idol Top 12 finalists and despite a health scare last week when she had to go to the hospital due to complications with her diabetes, she is doing well and has quickly become a fan favorite.

However, as last night's show revealed, no one is safe on this season of American Idol as favorite Lily Scott was voted out and it is now clear that no one has a safe ride, not even Crystal Bowersox. Katelyn Epperly, Todrick Hall, and Alex Lambert were also voted off last night.

Simon Cowell has clearly put his clout behind Crystal Bowersox however, as he told her that she is the one to beat and even Ellen DeGeneres keeps tellling her that she is amazing.

There was some doubt that Bowersox would even make it back to Idol however, after she had to be rushed to the hospital and the men had to perform with very short notice, but she returned to wow the audience and judges the next night and fans couldn't be happier.

Bowersox's struggle with diabetes has become part of her story on American Idol but MTV, among others, think that she has real potential to win:

Bowersox recalls past "Idol" fan favorites like Jason Castro and Bo Bice, yet she's been able to carve out an identity all her own. She's also showing more personality the longer she's on TV, and it sparkles.

However they also speculate that she may lose because:

Bowersox had never watched "Idol" before, so she may be thrown for a loop when she's expected to sing a disco tune or a Broadway number. If she's smart, she'll watch every single Adam Lambert and Kris Allen "Idol" performance.

Crystal Bowersox just says that she's flattered to be considered a front-runner but that it's still anyone's guess who wins at this point.
