Everyone has an ethnic, religious, and political culture that is unique and would be insightful – if it had one home.

“Cultural Views” is a blog name I reserved in 2007. I was unable to commit to the blog due to too many other commitments. Today, I’d like to use the opportunity Oprah is offering by making “Cultural Views” my own show.

Having traveled a good portion of the world, I have come to the conclusion that one important way for society to make a shift in consciousness is by the west and east joining ideas. That’s how “Cultural Views” came to mind. It’s where people from all walks of life come to the table and discuss, debate and analyze their similarities and differences.

The fact that President Barack Obama won a Nobel Prize during his first year in office “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples” tells us one thing – cultural exchange, unity, and views are truly needed to change perceptions, raise awareness, and thus alleviate ignorance and stereotypes.

As a journalist, novelist, poet, filmmaker, a wife and a mother, I feel that it is “my responsibility” – as English author Ann Perry once sternly and sincerely told me after having read my work – to do what I do. So here I am…

If you believe in this concept and feel that I am the right person to represent it, please view this 2 minute clip and vote for me!

You can vote more than once, twice, or a 100 times (voting 50 times takes less than 5 minutes). It’s up to you how much effort and importance you wish to put into making “Cultural Views” a reality.

By the way, there’s a little mistake in the video which I hope no one notices. For those who do notice it, I will use famous chef Julia Child’s method of addressing mistakes by saying, as she would have, “Oh well, bon appetite!”
