D.L. Hughley to Host Comedy News Show for CNN

Is D.L. Hughley the right guy for this job?

Hughley, who co-created and starred in the sitcom "The Hughleys" is going to wade into the already crowded waters of ironic, cheeky, satirical news with the launch of his CNN'd attempt at truthiness, simply entitled "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News".

Let's wait and see if it works. Or gets laughs.

Hughley is occasionally funny, but he sure ain't no Colbert, Stewart, or Maher.

Actor/comedian D.L. Hughley will star in a live weekend CNN show that will take what the network calls an "unconventional" look at the news.

The program, tentatively titled "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News," will air at 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays beginning October 25.

The network promises plenty of laughs as well as interviews in the show, which will air live in front of a studio audience at CNN's New York studios.

Hughley co-created and starred in the series "The Hughleys" and was one of the four stand-up comedians featured in Spike Lee's documentary "The Original Kings of Comedy."

Jarrett Martineau, I like this story. It's good stuff.

To be honest, I think the show will fly. D.L. is a very funny comedian, especially when talking about world events. He did great on Jay Leno talking about the news and stuff and was hilarious.
