Daesung Car Accident: Motorcyclist Killed

Korean pop star Daesung, of the group Big Bang, was in a car accident at around 1:40am local time on May 31 (May 30 in Europe/North America).

Apparently Daesung rear-ended a motorcyclist, who died in the crash.

Twitter exploded with the news, with alternate reports emerging: that the motorcyclist had been rear-ended by a taxi, which was then hit by Daesung's Audi. The taxi, pushed forward by Daesung's car, then crushed the motocyclist. All K Pop reported that Daesung was being investigated for possible drunk driving, but newer reports say that no alcohol was involved.

A definitive version of the Daesung car crash has yet to emerge. It's not clear if the motorcyclist was already dead before Daesung was involved in the accident. Daesung is currently being interviewed by police.

Update: All K Pop published part of the police statement regarding the Daesung car crash:

“On the morning of May 31st at Yanghwa Bridge, Daesung crashed into an already-passed-out motorcyclistwith his car. It was identified that he crashed into a motorcyclist who was passed out from a previous accident. We will be able to give a clear confirmation after the investigation is over. [...] “He has been admitted to the hospital and his death has not yet been confirmed. [...] Currently, we are investigating whether alcohol was involved.”
