Dalai Lama defends Islam as peaceful religion

I don't understand how the Dalai Lama can be so blind about these issues.  Or is it that the Dalai Lama only made sure he do not offend anybody? Why is it in the media, particularly in journalism, we can be very bold, direct and sharp in pinpointing who is who and what is happening under the table? Why then when it comes to religion, we are all so afraid to tell and accept the truth? It should be remembered that any thing that is extreme, over and too much, is dangerous, even in the practice of religion.  It certainly does not excuse no one.
