Dancehall Reggae star Mr. Vegas, who announced his retirement from Reggae, was feted by friends and close associates at the Kingston branch of the popular TGIF food chain.
The DJ and real estate mogul, announced his departure from the business recently, in an exclusive interview with the Jamaican based tabloid magazine CHAT!. In the interview he stated that his decision was made after years of dealing with a grossly unprofessional business environment, and a lack of respect and support by his fellow peers in the business.
Vegas, who recently returned from a blistering European tour, said that after over a decade in the business, his professional and personal lives needed to reflect change, and a hiatus from the business was his best option.
When asked about his financial status and his future plans to earn income, the artiste stated that his prudent investments in real estate gave him the freedom and flexibility to explore other options and to spend more time with his children and family and to become closer to God.
Mr. Vegas rose to national prominence in 1997 with his hit singles “Nike Air” and the heavily remixed “Head High”. Since then he has garnered international acclaim, touring extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
