Daniel Jimeno Romero, a 22-year-old Spanish man, was gored to death in Pamplona today during the running of the bulls. Daniel Jimeno Romero, from Madrid, was on holiday in Pamplona with his family when he was gored in the neck by a bull while taking part in the fourth of eight bull-runs runs in el encierro. Romero died in hospital. Three others were injured as well.

Here is a link to video footage with an eyewitness account- the video does not actually show anyone dying.

The death would be the first in the running of the bulls since a 22-year-old American was gored to death in 1995.

This is the 14th death associated with the running of the bulls in Pamplona.

I know it is a very old tradition and I have seen it my self twice, and yet I think this is rather a sick and demented tradition that should be let go of.

A tragic way to end a holiday.  Some events are better to watch than to participate.

IMO, there is something definitely wrong with this 'tradition'. Thanks for posting, jordan!
