Danny Glover Was Arrested at a Labor Union Protest in Maryland

Danny Glover, who stars in the remake of Death at a Funeral that opened this weekend, was arrested on Friday April 16 at a labor union protest in Maryland at the headquarters of the food services company Sodexo.

Danny Glover was arrested with 11 others but it was not a case of violence or force that caused the arrest; Danny Glover was with the others and stepped across a yellow line and was asked to step back three times. When they stepped across again they were all arrested.

Those arrested will face either 90 days in jail or a $1,000 fine, and were issued citations for trespassing according to KTLA News

Danny Glover was at the rally on behalf of workers at Sodexo and he told the crowd:

"We're here today to say no more to deplorable pay and working conditions."

The union wants to address unfair treatment and even potential illegal treatment of their workers. Sodexo has just responded that the the union does not have the right information.

This is not the first time that Danny Glover has been involved in politics and disputes. he was part of a group that called for a boycott of all Hugo Boss suits at the 2010 Oscars and asked his celebrity friends such as Quentin Tarantino and Sean Penn to not wear the famous designer.

He did this out of protest for Hugo Boss laying off 300 of its workers.
