The third installment of Warner Bros' rebooted Batman series has just been given a release date: July 20, 2012.

2012 is already jam packed with blockbuster sequels. On May 4, get ready for The Avengers - a superhero team-up featuring Iron Man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, and The Mighty Thor. On June 29, Captain Kirk and crew return for the latest chapter in the Star Trek saga. And on July 3, Spider-Man swings back into screens!

Director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale are expected to return for the new Batman film. The Dark Knight was a record-breaking hit in 2008. It grossed over a billion dollars worldwide.
