David Arquette enters rehab, receives support from wife Courteney
Just following news that David Arquette has opted to seek help in rehab, his estranged wife Courteney Cox has voiced her admiration over the move.
Talking to People magazine, the former "Friends" star said, "I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him."
As for the reason behind Arquette's rehab check-in, sources tell that the actor is battling heavy drinking and bouts of depression.
With his breakup from Cox having made matters worse, an insider explained, "He's just not handling this situation well. He's really depressed."
A source also told People: "Rehab was inevitable. He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life."
A recently separated Arquette partied it up on New Year's at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel before seeking professional help.
Citing that the split from Courteney Cox has "taken its toll" on him, another insider tells TMZ that David is getting help because it's "the right thing to do for his family."
In wake of his decision to seek treatment, an Us Magazine story is claiming that Arquette's efforts are motivated by hopes of winning Courteney back. "He is doing this to show her he means it and will do anything for her and Coco. He wants his family life back. It's been so hard on him."
Just a few weeks ago, the 39-year-old actor appeared on Howard Stern for a third time, telling the radio show host that he was having "a nervous breakdown."
"I've been drinking a lot because I'm heartbroken," he added. "It's really a personal, traumatic thing."
