David Byrne Denies Talking Heads Reunion Rumours
Don't get your hopes up yet folks, it doesn't look like a Talking Heads reunion will be happening anytime soon.
David Byrne dismissed rumours that the band might be getting back together by quipping that it would be unlikely as he's not only "not keen" — he also doesn't "need the money badly enough".
Hey, at least he's honest about it.
You can't very well say that about other bands who've claimed to be reuniting for "artistic" reasons.
Nevertheless, you can still catch David Byrne and a crew of fantastic musicians and dancers as he's currently on tour performing songs from Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, his latest collaboration with Brian Eno.
And that almost makes up for not getting to see a profit-driven 'Stop Making Sense All Over Again' reunion show. Let's hope that day never arrives.
The band, who split in 1991, have only played together once since then - taking to the stage in 2002 to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Speaking to Metro, Byrne said he has little desire to reunite the band properly.
"I'm not keen and it's unlikely to happen," he said. "I don't need the money badly enough."
