David Rainey, Known as MTV's The Real World San Francisco Cast Member Puck, and His Son Were Severely Injured in a Car Accident Last Week But Was He Driving Drunk?
On March 19th, David Rainey and his eight-year-old son Bogart were driving on Route 79 in California, going on a fishing trip, when Rainey swerved his car to avoid hitting a deer and that is when he lost control of the car according to Access Hollywood.
TMZ is also reporting that Rainey was under the influence of alcohol and the California Highway Patrol is planning to arrest him after his release from hospital. He will also be booked for child endangerment and driving without a license says TMZ.
David Rainey was known as Puck on MTV's The Real World San Francisco that aired in the early 90s.
When Rainey lost control of the car, it rolled down an embankment and ended up upside down in the creek at the bottom. Puck was able to free his son but he remained trapped in the car, while his son climbed the embankment and flagged down a car for help.
Bogart suffered bruising on his internal organs and a damaged liver, while Rainey suffered broken bones in his feet, his neck and his right hand. He had also fractured his clavicle and sternum.
When questioned about the possibility of being under the influence, a rep for Puck said:
I cannot comment or substantiate on if alcohol was involved, but that I am thankful Bogart, age eight, has been released from the hospital to his mother Betty today when it was initially feared he would not survive.
