David Yost: Blue Power Rangers Character, Quit Might Morphin Power Rangers Because Of Anti-Gay Harrassment

David Yost, the actor who played the Blue Power Rangers guy on the show and movie Mighty Morphin Power Rangers says he quit the popular TV series because of anti-gay harassment from the shows producers. 

In an interview with No Pink Spandex posted on Youtube David Yost said,


"I was called 'f*ggot' one too many times [by the show's] creators, producers, writers, directors."

No Pink Spandex began as a podcast in 2005 dedicated to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

In the extensive interview said he got the part of Billy (the Blue Power Ranger) after about 8 casting calls.

Yost says who is gay says the harassment got so bad he had thoughts of suicide. But he also added he felt privileged to have a job as actor and he did love his job.
