Hello and welcome to day 2 of the first Test between New Zealand and REngland from the University Oval in Dunedin. Day 1 was washed out with a ball been bowled. However, the weather is much better today and one hopes to see some action soon. Just a reminder, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl.

In the New Zealand team, Doug Bracewell is expected to miss this Test due to a hand injury. Thus, Ian Butler might get a chance to play in a Test after a gap of close to eight years. With regards to the England team, it is highly unlikely that Monty Panesar might play. With a poor warm-up game against an NZ XI in Queenstown, Graham Onions might not get the nod in this match.

If one has to think about New Zealand's chances, it is that they can only be expected to put up a fight. However, they can also spring one or two surprises as it was witnessed in their series against Sri Lanka and Australia.

England have won both the T20Is and the ODI series 2-1. With their recent success in India, England look all set to dominate a New Zealand side that have not had much success in the Test match arena in the past one year. With a double Ashes series in 2013, England will be looking to put on their best show in their first Test series of the year.
