Day 2: India vs Australia Live Streaming 1st Test, Ind v Aus 2013
Struggling Australian Cricket team that is running 2-0 behind in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, have decided to come on the field with some different plans. In form skipper Michael Clarke will bat at No. 3 while Brad Haddin will be seen keeping behind the wickets on the second day of third Test.
However, the first day of the much awaited match was washed out by some heavy rain in Mohali on Thursday. Not even a single ball was bowled on the first day of the match at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium.
Brad Haddin has been called from Australia to replace Matthew Wade, who has been excluded from the squad because of an injury. Haddin has not played even a single Test match in last one year. He had last played a Test match against West Indies before one year and had left the series mid-way following some personal reasons.
The inclusion of Haddin, who will be the most experienced player in the side after Clarle, is one of a host of changes Australia will be making to its playing eleven after four key players were ruled ineligible for selection by Cricket Australia (CA) for disciplinary breaches.
Clarke is also looking forward to reshuffle the current batting order in an attempt to strengthen his team's position in the match. He will come on the crease at No. 3 instead of No. 5. Phil Hughes and Steven Smith will follow him at No. 4 and No. 5. However, Smith has not played Test Cricket since the Ashes in Sydney two years ago.
In the first two Tests, Hughes failed to impress the management with spin bowling and was almost confirmed to be replaced by Usman Khawaja. But the exclusion of Khawaja following team discipline breach, Hughes has got another golden chance to save his place in the team.
Here is the Australia's playing eleven for the third Test:
Australia: David Warner, Ed Cowan, Michael Clarke (captain), Phil Hughes, Steve Smith, Brad Haddin (wicketkeeper), Moises Henriques, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Xavier Doherty, Nathan Lyon. 12th man: Glenn Maxwell.
