Starting in the summer of 2011, DC Comics will reboot all of its major titles, including Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

All major DC titles will start with issue #1 this summer. The minds behind DC Comics say the reboot is not just about numbers. They plan to re-work their titles with storylines that will humanize their heroes.

The DC Comics reboot will be kicked off by the final issue of the “Flashpoint” mini-series, which revolves around an alternate DC universe timeline and Justice League No. 1, written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Jim Lee.

"We really want to inject new life in our characters and line," says Dan DiDio, co-publisher of DC with Lee. "This was a chance to start, not at the beginning, but at a point where our characters are younger and the stories are being told for today's audience."

DC Comics has also unveiled plans to release new issues digitally at the same time that they're released in stores.
