Dear John,

The box office numbers for Friday have been released and we are #1 with $13.8 million. Apparently it's a record for Super Bowl weekend. It's not a surprise that a chick flick would be the one to break it. It's also a record for a film based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks. We grossed in one day what most of his adaptations gross in a weekend.

Avatar slipped to #2 with $6.1 million. Don't feel bad. It has grossed $612.6 million so far. Although it only lasted seven weeks at #1 while Titanic lasted 15 weeks. Then again...it was dethroned by Lost in Space. You decide which is more embarrasing.
