Death Cab For Cutie's Music Video For New Moon Track Debuts Today
The music video for Death Cab For Cutie's latest song "Meet Me On The Equinox" is set to debut on MTV later today. The video will feature a day/night kind of theme set in an old mansion.
Clips and images from the film New Moon (The Twilight Saga) will be interspersed with shots of Death Cab playing their song.
MTV News caught up with DCFC on the Toronto set of the video (see our behind-the-scenes interviews with the band on set after the jump), a spooky old mansion decorated with stained glass windows, sepia-toned family photos and even a stuffed deer's head. "This is certainly the creepiest place we've ever shot a video, that's for sure," joked bassist Nick Harmer. "This mansion is haunted."
The creepy ambiance of the residence was only heightened by the unique lighting used for the shoot. "The song's called 'Meet Me On The Equinox,' and there's this whole day-night, sort of sunlight-moonlight sort of thing going on," said guitarist Chris Walla, explaining the concept of the video. "It's being lit in two pieces. Basically, like a compressed time sort of thing where through a verse of the song it will move from day to night in the course of like 20 seconds or something."
The single was released last month and now fans will finally get a chance to see glimpses of Edward and Bella in the highly anticipated music video that MTV.com will debut later today.
