DeGeneres and de Rossi to Marry

After California overturned the ban on same-sex marriage yesterday, I was wondering when the first high-profile wedding would be announced. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have answered that question.

DeGeneres was taping the episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, the day the state's high court struck down California laws against gay marriage, and it was to air Friday, a person close to the production said.

The person, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

Citing the court's ruling, DeGeneres said she and girlfriend de Rossi ("Ally McBeal," "Nip/Tuck") would be getting married.

I am delighted to see Ellen getting married. I am thrilled that California has lifted the ban on marriages to make it available to all, no discrimination. Yoohooo!!

I'm so glad that they are finally able to legally wed. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness! 'e' was created in honor of our lovely, Ellen DeGeneres. She's fantastic! I create what inspires me. This 'e' is for you, Ellen!!! It was actually created in August 2007, but I couldn’t part with it. It hung proudly in my studio. However, since she were to be celebrating her 50th birthday, I figured I should at least let her have ownership of it. After all...it was made for her. Happy Birthday! This awesome piece of eco-friendly artwork, is covered with 747 pop tabs. Everyone loves sparkly, shiny, bling-bling things. Hope she enjoys! Thank you for all of the laughs, and may you continue to get even funnier with the years! Oh, and don’t let me forget to congratulate you for dethroning, Miss Oprah. You are the BEST!!! Ellen is the best - I wish her and Portia all the happiness they can find. If it comes in the form of wedding rings, more power to them!

I took this shot out my living room window when Ellen was doing her New York opening season a few years ago. She did a few street scenes with the local store front shops and the tourist who shop in them on 8th Ave. and 51 St. Its always amazing just how many people are there off screen, just to film such a shot.

My mom and her friends are big fans of Ellen, and when they were visiting NYC last year, they came across this American Express ad, and had to have a photo.

I did not really took this photo but a "chat friend" of mine uploaded this. This is not portia with ellen though, but this is a good shot. Just telling us people though portia really had a great time with ex girlfriend, still ellen is the one. :)
