Depeche Mode 12 May 2009 Athens Concert,CANCELED!Translation from Greek

Depeche Mode lead singer Dave Gahan was rushed to an Athens hospital yesterday after a suspected bout of gastroenteritis. Concert dates from May 16-20 were canceled as doctors run more tests.

Here's hoping Gahan can shake the disease and get back to doing what he does best.

The 47-year-old is still undergoing tests after being struck down with gastroenteritis, according to the electro-pop band's spokesman.

The unexpected medical emergency forced the cancellation of the band's concert at Terra Vibe park, where more than 30,000 fans were waiting. The concert is to be rescheduled.

Depeche Mode is touring in support of their new album, Sounds of the Universe.

The group is currently promoting their new album, Sounds of the Universe, on their Tour of the Universe. They have shows scheduled through February of 2010, including a gig at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August.
Quoting organisers of the concert, City 99.5 Radio said Gahan was taken to a private clinic with suspected gastroenteritis. Other news reports said the concert could be held on Wednesday if his condition improved.

They sound a little bit like ELO, never heard of them though, sorry to have to say that.

Dude, you're either 5 years old or from some other planet. They've been around for almost 30 years.

Sounds nothing like ELO,

Maybe "Evil Women" had some influence

Depech Mode would fill the largest Arenas in Los Angeles back in the early 90's with their politically charged lyrics for anyone who took the time to listen. Example=

"John the Revelator" refers to John of Patmos, author of the Book of Revelation and-- according to the Christian tradition-- the beloved apostle of Jesus Christ who wrote the fourth Gospel. Taken literally, the song's lyrics are a scathing criticism of the biblical author and his apocalyptical prophecies. The lyricist affirms the unicity of God while claiming "John the Revelator" stole a God from the Israelites and from the Muslims. Some Christian reviewers and Depeche Mode fans have criticized the lyrics as blasphemous, presenting John as a false prophet and a liar. Others have pointed out that the lyrics about stealing a God from the Israelites and Muslims make little sense considering the fact that John the Revelator was himself an Israelite and that there were no Muslims (no Islamic faith) in first (or second) Century AD.

Check them out! At least they are thinking outside the BOX!
