Diana Ross, the face of Motown soul and the lead singer of The Supremes, is mourning over the death of Michael Jackson. Ross starred alongside Michael Jackson in the ground-breaking film, The Wiz, a remake of The Wizard of Oz featuring an entirely African-American cast.
"I can't stop crying, this is too sudden and shocking," Ross says in a statement. "I am unable to imagine this. My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family."
Diana Ross is just one of the many celebrities reeling from the shocking death of Michael Jackson.

Yes Michael did make comments himself about having vitiligo. It is a skin disease that causes patches in the pigment of the skin. It can be caused by a none working thyroid ,the loss of pigment causes your skin to change to white. I have a good friend who has it. He has native american in his blood line, and is dark skined or I should say was. In the past five years his thyroid has stopped working giving him vitiligo, his sister also suffers from this. Vitiligo has caused his skin to change from being brown to having blotches of white. Looking as the brown skin is washing off leaving patches of white.Trust me it is not a fun disease to have. The white patches can become sun burned very badly if he forgets sun screen or is out in the sun to long. It is this way on his face, up his neck as all over his body.He chooses to cover it up, and try to hide the patches on his arms with tattoos. Michaels personal make up artist did an interview, and told of how he had patches of white skin and in the begining she would cover them up with black makeup, but then over time she started making him up with white make up because his skin had more patches of white then black. However a number of white people sit in the sun or go to tanning booths to get brown. Are we to believe that they all are trying to be black, and forget about their white heritage? As for the platic surgery, people all over the world have it done every day. That doesn't make him a freak. He admited to having two plastice surgerys. The man was 50.That is what is wrong with the world today. People only want to see the bad, nagative, cup have empty, dipping in everyones bucket, and dream crushed. I choose everyday to see good, positive, cup have full, to fill others bucket until they overflow, and dreams can come true. Why don't we have a news station the talks about all the good it's filled with the bad. In ever human being there is good, and I believe Michael was a good person, and he did a lot of good while hear on earth. As for the bad that he might have done. We will never know, and as others have said that is for God to deal with. You might remember that Jesus him self was slandard, beaten, whipped, convicted without a trial, sent to his death by the public. I am not saying Michael was Jesus or should be looked at like a God. What I am trying to say is that society can take the greatest of men and kill them slowly.Do to greed, jeaousy, money, power and fifteen min. of fame.Everyone who likes to beileve that Michael was so streange ask yourself if you had camaras around you every second of the day looking at what you were doing every min., What would they see? What secrets could they find in your closet. My heart, and prayers go out to Michaels children, family, and friends. May the memory of the joy he brought to the earth live on in you. Rest In Peace Michael you were truly a wonderful soul, and will be missed.

He may not have had a skin disease but who cares if he changed his skin or any other physical part of himself. What you should look at is the many lives he has impacted and changed in a positive way. The way he looked was only to satisfy himself and he did countless things to satisfy others. The surgeries he underwent to try to fit in had nothing to do with the Great Man that he was inside! I will pray for Michaels family and everyone that mourns his death, however I am happy for Michael Jackson because he is at peace and he sees true love and acceptance in the greatest abundance of all.

And how do you know, so authoratatively, that he had this skin disease? Because he said he did? Well, I'm really the Pope. Do you believe me, as well? I'm with you on the caring and loving individual, but he was strange beyond strange. He DID bleach his skin, and it will all come out over time. kep in mind that for years he denied having any work done on his face. Years later, he admitted to two nose jobs only. Plastic surgeons have agreed he would have had to have multiple (perhaps as many as 15 operations) procedures to have transformed that much.

there are photos of his disease on the internet what music artist do you know or would you go out in public with white spots all over your body i sure wouldn't i'd cover them with make up. but if it spreads through out my entire body i'll just have to deal with it sooner or later someone has to know about my skin disease instead of covering it up. and that's what michael did. the media wants to release his vitiligo photos now that he's gone but who was telling the media these lies?. he wore heavy heavy make up to cover it up. there is a such thing as body makeup celebrities use it all the time. http://floacist.wordpress.com/2007/08/30/michael-jacksons-viti

Death is a seperation process, Michael's spirit lives on and will be called in the "catching up". Many of you may not understand, but true member's of the body will see him again. God Bless the Jackson family.

No he's dead and that's it. No one will ever see him again. Fairy tales and wishful thinking won't change this.

King of Pop meets King of Kings. Hmmmm.

If so prepare for judgement Michael - be sure your sins will find you out. Your fake high pitched whine you used in interveiws won't fool God.
at 18:38 on July 5th, 2009
Unless you are God Himself, you don't know anything, so just be quiet. A mere mortal playing judge. God Bless Michael Jackson.

To all may I request that you rephrase your statements about Mr. Ross being ignorant or one of ignorance. This would not apply to him. He is stupid! Stupidity is one that does not have the ability to learn and one that will never know how limited his mind is. Let us all refrain nfrom entertaining such nonsense. Please allow him to continue to behave like an "IT".
at 02:23 on June 27th, 2009
People should try to refrain from even replying to the Stupid remarks that others leave as you are just feeding into them and that is what they are looking for....if we just ignore their dumb asses....they won't reply any further! With that being said....Michael Jackson was a huge influence in the music business and no one since Elvis has crossed between music genres as he did....NO NOT EVEN the Beatles...all they did was sell more albums!
at 11:57 on June 27th, 2009
I agree 100% with the fact that no one since Elvis has been so huge with such talent. Even as big as some believe John Lennon to have been he doesn't even compare to Elvis or Michael!!! The way Elvis was mourned and remembered to this day will be the exact same for Michael Jackson, if not more, if that is possible!!!

Michael Jackson is and always will be a legend!
I do not believe at all he did any such actions with young children. In my opinion, it was his chance to be the child he could never be. He grew up in the spotlight and had to act like an adult at the age of 9. This was his way of living that part of his life he never had because he couldn't act like a child around adults, that wouldn't work. This is possibly why Michael never saw anything wrong with the situation.

I have always loved Michael Jackson. He was amazing & there will never be another like him. He had such an obvious God given talent and he knew that. Michael has had his share of troubles over the years and were worse than normal people, however, he did not live a normal life. It's unfair for people to judge him so harshly when they never walked in his shoes. I will always remember Michael Jackson for his beautiful voice, wonderful dancing, and his love for children. He had a huge heart for hurting children and he sang about it in several of his songs. He will be missed by so many. I pray for his family and for his children.
at 12:23 on June 27th, 2009
first of all Michael was a great performer and he was great at what he did, he didn't live a normal childhood and second of all he had a skin disease dumb fucking idiot and third of all what makes you think he even did it ? were you there? The parent's to those children wanted to get money off of him is how I feel.. SEe someone rich and theres your chance to make easy money! It's funny how all these other celebs and other children stayed at his place he never molested them.. don't judge him for his life he's only a human being so what he's had surgey on his nose a few times.. dOesnt make him a bad person does it? NO everyone does now days get over it.. He's truly going to be missed and I loved him so much! r.i.p Michael you're finally in a better place.. People need to stop being so judgemental on other people and take a look at themself before saying anything because there has to be a reason on why you want to hate on someone else ..
THis man did so much ! he's helped children all over the world no one ever apperciated that he 's been a icon to musicians all over the world and heros to many apperciate him because if it wasn't for him music wouldn't be the same! ty MJ! mauh!

We have already exposed this skin disease myth earlier, theres no point stating it again here.
And I fail to see why people keep saying we cant judge anyone - where do you get this odd idea from? You are clearly making postive judgements about him, so why are you only critical f of negative judgements (which are fair and true in my opinion).

MJ was an inspiration to all of us individually. I didn't grow up with him like my family all did, but as a little kid growing up, I loved just hearing his music and watching him perform on tv. I remember when I was turning 10yrs old and the theme of my party was the 70's. We played nothing but the Jackson 5. Good times :)
I think everyone can agree that every last one of his songs from the Jackson 5 to him going solo were amazing and they were all a favorite. I think we also agree that the same people who would dog Michael and talk trash about him, were the same people who listened to his music as well as dreamed about going to his concerts :)
MJ you will always be in our hearts, you are our guardian angel....we love you.
at 04:52 on June 28th, 2009
I think its possible to love the music and yet hate the man for what he was and did. There really is no need to pretend Michael was great as a man to appreciate the music. Let's be honest the music great - the man despicable.

I agree with Ross, jacko was a lost cause it probably better he's left us at least he may be remembered for the more positive things in his life. He lived as a kid and doing that when your fifty is just weird regardless of your history.
We lost the real Jacko in the early nineties

As a mother of a child who was molested, and then later overdosed at the age of 22 from an overdose of oxycontin, I still have the open mind to realize that in Michaels life things weren't just, as the song goes, "black or white". No one truely knows what happened, and it is now in GOD's hands. I have been a fan since the Jackson five, and will forever remain a fan. I will grieve the loss of my son forever, and now Michael Jackson. I pray for his family, and hope that they can have some peace in knowing that he is in a better place.

That whole bleaching his skin is a complete load of shit. Sorry to say but it is. The poor guy had the skin condition, virtilgo, which makes dark skin go a patchy white. At first he tried covering up his patches using dark make up, but in some pictures of him you can see that some parts of him look paler then other parts. But it got so bad in the end he used pancake makeup to make him paler so his skin looked more even. There're bleaching things on the market, and they don't make you anywhere near as pale as michael jackson got to. He also used other treatments to deal with his skin complaint and this made his skin paler anyway. Michael Jackson admitted that virtiligo was the reason his skin was so pale. He didnt say that this was the reason his nose went thinner or his lips went pink did he? It is so sad becuase I don't even think the poor man wanted to be white at all.
at 14:44 on June 28th, 2009
What is your source for MJ saying he had a skin disease - I don't believe he ever said such a thing, its just a myth that gets repeated as a fact. I know people wish it were true but it isn't.
at 21:09 on July 12th, 2009
I am old enough to remember him appearing on an Oprah Winfrey Special where she visited him at Neverland Ranch and he explained to her that he had a skin disease. That was the only time he acknowledged it and it was only because she asked him why his skin was lighter. Obviously, he wanted to keep his medical issues private, but in doing so people had formed all kinds of conclusions about his changing skin color MANY years before he addressed it with Oprah. The sad thing is that no one believed him (including me) because with a "vitiligo" skin disease, your skin becomes patchy dark and light spots which is very noticeable if you're black. Whereas his skin was uniform in color. We now know the truth, which is that he had this skin disease and tried to hide it with heavy dark makeup initially (see the Off The Wall and Thriller album/cd covers) and wearing the white glove to hide the severe discoloration on one of his hands. But as the skin discoloration quickly spread throughout his body, his dermatologist acknowledges that there was only one solution available to Michael and that was to bleach the few remaining dark parts of his skin. Keep in mind that makeup drips and considering he was an intense dancer and performer, dark makeup on his entire body would not have been a feasible option. I hope this puts the whole skin color issue to rest. I feel bad that as he was launching his solo career he had to deal with the stress and anxiety of developing a skin disease and also being diagnosed with lupus which caused severe skin problems for him as well, especially on his nose. It goes to show you just how awesome he was to accomplish what he did with these huge challenges before him. At the end of the day, none of his medical issues are really any of our busines, but knowing about them does explain a lot. I'm just sorry no one believed what little information he did choose to share.
For those that still think he was a child molester, the one kid who claimed he was molested recently admitted (after Michael's death) that his father made him lie and falsely accuse Michael in order to get Michael's money. I don't know how true it is, but I just recently saw where Michael never wanted to settle, he wanted to go to trial, but his insurance company forced him to settle. And we all know he was acquitted of ALL 14 counts of child molestation in the 2nd and last case.
I can only imagine the pain he suffered at being accused of such a horrible crime that goes against EVERYTHING he stands for. For those who are so quick to hurl unfounded accusations against him, I hope you never experience the pain of being falsely accused of something. Trust me, it's an awful experience.
Michael was truly the GREATEST entertainer and entertainer/humanitaian that ever lived. We were blessed to have had him in our lifetime. I'm 39 years old and was introduced to Michael's music when I was around 13 which is when Thriller came out (1983) and I have been a fan of his ever since. I later started listening to his music when he was a kid and I'm still in awe that a child could posess such talent. Michael had it all - singing, dancing, song-writing, showmanship - he was a groundbreaker in EVERY one of these areas. He was and is MAGIC. May he R.I.P.

imara - you don't think he wanted to be white! What colour do you think he was trying to make himself - green?
