Diana Ross, the face of Motown soul and the lead singer of The Supremes, is mourning over the death of Michael Jackson. Ross starred alongside Michael Jackson in the ground-breaking film, The Wiz, a remake of The Wizard of Oz featuring an entirely African-American cast.

"I can't stop crying, this is too sudden and shocking," Ross says in a statement. "I am unable to imagine this. My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family."

Diana Ross is just one of the many celebrities reeling from the shocking death of Michael Jackson.

I just can't but feel shocked by the extreme ignorance and insensitivity shown in some of these comments.  Can someone tell me why Michael Jackson had to explain anything about his health problems or anything about his private life to anybody??  Michael, as every human being, had the right to keep the private side of his life for himself.  If someone else wants to share their private life, that is also their right.  What's the problem with those people who can't leave the man alone?  Show some respect now that he is dead, because if you can't, then you are not deserving of being even considered a human being.  Uniqueness is never understood.  He was unique.  Eccentric? Yes.  That's part of being unique.  I would like to know how many of those who say bad things about him, and of those who believe those things, have given to this world even a millionth part of what Michael did through his art in one single day.

It is more than a shame that after the world has suffered vast injustices, hate still is the fashion of the day.  To speak against anyone who has left this earth is no different from going to their funeral and making nasty remarks about the person in the presence of their family and friends.  Although this county has come a long way since slavery, we must realize that much progress is yet needed.  Michael Jackson - May you rest in beautify PEACE!
WE LOVED YOU!!!

Michael-I hope you are truly at peace now. As sad it is that you are no longer with us, it hurt to watch you deminish your quality of life and see you in pain and live in obvious insanity. I wish you saw in yourself what we all saw in you! Amazing talent, a beautiful person, and a powerful encourager. I hope you find that now - I hope there is more for you. But rest assured, you will not be forgotten and you will be missed. Isn't amazing that after everything you had gone through - you still make such an impact in people's lives - that says a lot about you! Rest in Peace Michael.

he was a human being who was expected to be larger than life.  pretty tall order for someone who was abused as a child and lived his life under a microscope.  some of us lost apart of our adolescence when he died.  he deserves the respect of his undeniable accomplishments. whether you like it or not.  may you receive all the kindness in your time of need that you have given on this blog

There is a lot of bickering here so I will ad my two cents:

I didn't care much for michael over the last 10 plus years and I wouldn't have gone to any of his concerts should I have been given a free ticket (thoughts prior to his death) but like him or hate him there is no denying he was one of the most creative and talented artist of our times and he will be missed by me just for that fact.    MJ's Thiller video and the excitement of it is still fresh in my mind as it came out the day I turned 21.

I am very saddened about the loss of Michael J. Jackson. My prayers go out to his family and close friends and even the fans who mourn the loss of a family member and icon. I know it has to be hard on the family to mourn the loss of a family member when you have media all over the place.  Everyone needs to leave the the "past" alone and think about the future. God Bless!!

I agree - think about the future and it doesn't have Michael in it, so lets just forget about the sad and evil freak shall we. Why not celebrate the life of someone who actually deserves it?

I can't imagine how Diana feels. I miss Michael Jackson so much and I never saw him. I am so sorry because he felt so lonely. There will never be the Legend like Michael was again.

Are you just saying this to wind people up? It doesn't help saying such ridiculous things. MJ wasn't in any way "nice".

2
Marc Cate

Jessica you fail to realise he wasn't nice on the outside or inside - where did you get the idea he was nice and bright? You can't be talking about THE Michael Jackson. Please don't peddle your twisted fantasies here.

You people are just F'n sad, no matter what Michael did in life he is DEAD, if it was your grandfather or Mother and someone said things you have, you would kick there A@@.

and your the type of people that make Michael the way he was, "waco jacko" sick, the 1st child settled out of court because Michael did not want to ruin his career the 2nd one tried to get money off Jay leno and many many more HENCE the Jury threw it out of court and 3 years later the kid said HIS MOTHER made him do it.

your a bunch of sick M F's and there is a place in hell waiting for you, at least Michael gave something back to the world whats your excuse?

he was a friend and a better person then you could hope to be, to all of you saying kind words at the stunning loss I thank you, the Jackson family thanks you.

I wouldn't kick their donkey if they were true (did you mean arse instead of ass? Its a common error many Americans make)

I don't lie about people just because they are dead - why should I pretend they were good if they weren't?

Wacko Jacko was the only one responsible for the way his sordid life turned out.

I'm not a particular "type".

Interesting how you explain away the allegations to yourself, doesn't quite fit the facts though.

No need to be abusive to make your point - and there is no Hell, unless you belive in God & fairies too.

You don't know me but I can assure you I'm a better person than MJ (not difficult)

What gives you the right to thank people on behalf of the Jackson family?

Dianna Ross is my Mother's nextdoor neighbor, we both know her well.  I feel that Micheal made an excellent and logical choice naming Dianna if she survives Katherine.  I grew up in Greenwich CT and I can attest that if in the event Micheal's children come under the care of Dianna, that the children will have an excellent upbringing far from the critical eye of Hollywood.

I think it is in poor form to speak ill of the dead.  A Judicial Process took place....all of the facts were presented to a jury of one mans peers....for those of us who did not have access to all of the facts we can only believe that the twelve people appointed to make a judgment on behalf of society acted honorably and came to an appropriate conclusion.  The people have spoken....Mr. Jackson IS indeed innocent of these charges and that is that.  It is not only disrespectful of the dead to speak ill of him on this count but disrespectful to our country; our countrymen and justice in general.  How dare any of us question the civil service of those twelve jurors and make a mockery of the time they gave to their country the day they were drafted to the Jackson case.  For those speaking ill of this matter shame on you...simply shame on you; didn't your mamas raise you any better than to be disrespectful of our constitution and spit in the face of our justice system.  This man has been deemed innocent and you have the audacity to disparage him in his death....for shame.

OUR HEARS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY! U WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN NOR REPLACED! JACKSON FAMILY KEEP YOUR HEADS UP ANDBE STRONG U KNOW HE IS RIGHT WITH U WATCHIN OVER YOU! GOD BLESS

Unbelievable !!

Ummm no - actually he's dead. Did you miss the news somehow?

Vicki Kinsley

I think we are all missing the point here.Michael never had an average up bringing. His father made him our property,he was his asset, not his child..He never had the chance to go out with his friends,he didn't even celebrate Christmas until he was 30!! .The media and small minded people are the ones who made him misunderstood, and they turned his life into a circus. Its the people who believe hate and ignorance, that now win in this world and those are the people that believe every story that is printed. I'm a mother, and i can truthfully say that no money in the world would make me settle out of court if somebody had done that to my child, they couldn't prove the story, after all.... isnt that what lies are:a story without proof?

This was a man who had a very blessed life, but had also a very lonely life.He knew millions of people but only a few took the time to know him.

Say what you like about him this void will never be filled.Everybody all over the world knows him and his music and the legend that is Michael Jackson.

oh and to thiose who dont belive th eskin desease. My best friend had vitaligo this is a REAL disease, and if you care to look there are plenty of pictures of Michael with this disease showing on his skin, over the years. If you have the time look i can send you some pictures,or are you like many others too  busy to?

i cant argue for every story that was made up about him, i simply don't have the time, and frankly it would bore me... but i can say don't believe everything you hear, judge for yourself.Take the time to find out yourself and believe in something can be that innocent.Dont make judgements based on how the world percives things, and how you think you should feel. The world is now a very cruel place.

Michael has lived his whole life in a world, where people tell him what to say where he can go.Magazines calling him a freak because he lives his life so differently...and its because we made him that way!!

I'm not a huge Michael Jackson fan,but i've grown up with his music, and i know there will never be another like him ever!I do know my own mind and i have seen things in Michaels life that you should really ask the question, could Michael Jackson ever live up to being Michael Jackson? He was amazing and will never be replaced .His music will live on forever, but he was still a beautiful man with a child's heart, and this was  the REAL Michael Jackson ,and those who love him really do love him.

If everybody kept with them the innocence and the fun that he lived with in his heart, maybe the world would be a better place.

Rest in peace my Angel x

You haven't given any reasons why you think he was amazing, blessed or an angel - or why you refuse to beleive the truth about him. I don't recognise the Michael Jackson of your imagination

0
vick kinsley

I take it from your comment that you knew him personally then and you know the truth?

I respect the fact that there will always be people who believe and who don't believe but unless you take the time to investigate what the proof is it remains a lie.

I worked in the entertainment industry for a time and my boss knew Michael personally,i can stand by what i say and im not ashamed to stand my ground i belive in my truth and not what they try to sell you.

I stand by my comments and my tribute there will never be another and that is fact, even the media admit that they are just worried because they dont know what will happen to sell their papers now that he has gone when all of this settles.....it headlines baby thats all!
