More incentive to drink water over pop:
Researchers have found a correlation between drinking diet soda and metabolic syndrome — the collection of risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes that include abdominal obesity, high cholesterol and blood glucose levels, and elevated blood pressure.
The scientists gathered dietary information on more than 9,500 men and women ages 45 to 64 and tracked their health for nine years.

I know so many people who drink diet soda because they think it can't hurt them and is actually a good alternative to any other drink. Maybe this will help convince them otherwise?
Or maybe we need a 'death by diet coke epidemic' in order for that to happen?

If it wasn't around before the industrial revolution, it's not a 'healthy alternative'. Is it just me, or is basically everything, other than water, bad? Even 50% of 'herbal' teas contain too much of something or other. It'd be a dull world without things that are 'bad for you', but even I have to draw the line at things made in a chemical factory and sold as 'healthy alternatives'.

It's about time people wisened up to what they are consuming. This is what our culture does best: offer us BIGGER, BETTER, MORE, and this is what we end up focusig on at the expense of quality (and common sense).

It is complete and total gut rot. The photo that I added with Gio on the Coke can was originally created to acknowledge my addiction to Diet Cherry Coke. I started the art last April with the idea that Riffy would be floating in a sea of Diet Cherry Coke (which is what i felt like I was doing). I was busy and never finished the art and months later replaced Riffy with Gio and used it in a different way.
However, over time I began to have negative side effects from drinking Coke daily so one day just stopped cold turkey. I strongly recommend that anyone who thinks it is harmless to do research on it...it can even lead to MS. Now I infuse my veins with water and I had an instantaneous turnaround in how I felt--imagine that--and the gastrointestinal issues stopped.
My Dad used to refer to pop as "poison" when we were growing up so we had it in very limited quantities--usually in the summer. Well it turns out dear old Dad was right, but I knew that all along.
