Dinosaur-themed DS titles make for riotous family fun

Fossil Fighters, a DS game for dinosaur lovers, located on Vivosaur Island is Fossil Stadium have dinosaurs from the ancient past are dug up with new technology, then have special powers to hop in the ring and battle.

Imagine a cross between Pokémon and Cooking Mama, complete with stylus-driven mini games, more ways to customize and control your creatures than Pokémon, and with slightly better graphics and you have Fossil Fighters pegged.

Hunting requires you to scour the countryside around Vivosaur Island using your sonar tool looking for dinosaur parts buried beneath the surface. Once discovered, you must exhume your prize with a pick axe, then use specialized tools to clean the debris away from the bones before reviving the dead creatures in the Fossil Lab. Ultimately, you fight your revived creatures in Fossil Stadium against other Fossil Fighters for prestige and fame.

Like Pokemon and Cooking Mama, Fossil Fighters is a family fun game.

Rather than Pokémon's hand-drawn animated still frames,Fossil Fightersuses a turn based iconic viewpoint of the action on the DS' bottom screen to manage your 'fighters,' while the top screen details each attack, animated in glorious three-dimensions using texture mapped polygons.
