NP Rank:
This Disney Prince is a must see summer flick.
If you haven't already done so, then maybe it's time you made a trip down to your local theater that's still playing Disney's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The second story in the Chronicles of Narnia is amazingly well done and a treat for all fans of the books written by C.S. Lewis.
The Disney magic is very much alive in Prince Caspian, just like it was in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Walden Media did a marvelous job of staying true to the storyline and the acting was superb, and the set designs were fantastic. You really felt like you were transformed into the mystical realm of Narnia, where time ages in a difference sense then that in the real world.
The saga of Prince Caspian takes place, 1,300 years after the Pevensie children have left Narnia and went back to their real world. Prince Caspian is the soon to be King of Narnia, though a plot to kill him by his Uncle Miraz, who wants to be King himself, forces Prince Caspian into having to flee from his own castle in order to avoid being killed. Prince Caspian's escape is aided by his long time mentor Doctor Cornelius, who informs the young prince that his aunt has just given birth to a son and that now his life is in danger. Doctor Cornelius gives Prince Caspian, Queen Susan's ancient magical horn and instructs him to use it only as a last means of help. Prince Caspian flees into the forest chased by Telmarine soldiers, and falls of his horse encountering two Narnian drawfs and a talking badger in the forest. Not knowing that they are trying to save him, Prince Caspian blows the magical horn to summon help, help which the young prince gets from the four Pevensie children who are again transformed back into Narnia and the adventure begins.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is produced and directed by Andrew Adamson who also worked on the screenplay and stars Ben Barnes, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley and Sergio Castellitto. The Cinematography was done by Karl Walter Lindenlaub with music by Harry Gregson-Williams.
Prince Caspian is my pick for one of this summers must see movies and if you loved Disney's "Enchanted", then your sure to love this one just the same, as the Disney magic is very much alive in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
