A visit to London is incomplete without a visit to Tate Modern.

At the turn of the millennium, this art gallery was created in London from a redundant power station.

It's no accident that a power station can be turned into an ideal site to showcase sculptures and other large art pieces. You just have to walk inside the former turbine hall in Tate Modern to appreciate how uniquely huge this space is.

Perhaps, there are lessons to be learned from the creation of Tate Modern.

More questions have emerged over the future of WA’s new museum after the State Government launched a legal bid to have the old East Perth power station put back on to the heritage register.

Heritage Minister John Castrilli has revealed that the Heritage Council will apply to the Supreme Court for a waiver that would mean the site, proposed by the former Labor government as the home of the new WA Museum, could be relisted.

The Heritage Council is also seeking a conservation order to protect the power station from demolition, damage or alterations in the short term.

Hi, Thanks for pointing out the issue. I've tried to learn where it was out of line, and made changes. Is the update in a form suitable for NP now? Regards, Lazylizards
